Privacy Policy

What we process
We process account and profile details, authentication records, family connection details, invitations, family membership and relationship roles, prompts, game answers and guesses, chat message text, photos uploaded to our R2 storage, stickers, reactions, read receipts, push notification tokens, subscription status, and support messages. We also process limited security, device, and error information. PostHog product analytics are collected only when you consent.
Purposes and legal bases
- Create your account and deliver shared family games: performance of our contract with you.
- Send service notifications you request: performance of our contract and your device permission.
- Prevent abuse, protect family spaces, and diagnose failures: our legitimate interests in operating a safe and reliable service.
- Optional product analytics: your consent.
- Billing, accounting, tax, and legal compliance: contract and applicable legal obligations.
Nuola does not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means.
Family content
Only share or record content when you have permission to do so. Content in a family space is visible to its participants. Deleting an account deletes the attached shared family space, so the other participant will also lose access to that shared history.
Sharing and international transfers
We use service providers for cloud hosting and storage, email and authentication, notifications, analytics when allowed, error monitoring, and payments. They may process data only to provide those services under contractual safeguards. Where data leaves the EEA, we rely on an adequacy decision or approved safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not sell personal data.
Retention
Account and family content is kept while the family space is active. Deleting your account in Privacy & data removes the account and its associated family data from active Nuola systems, including the files and chat photos you authored in our R2 storage, and we instruct applicable processors to handle associated data under our agreements. Limited billing, fraud-prevention, security, or legal records may be retained where required by law or necessary for legal claims. Content reports are retained after resolution so we can act on repeat abuse. De-identified information that can no longer identify you may be retained.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to information, access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent. Signed-in users can change analytics consent, download a machine-readable copy, or delete their account in Privacy & data. You may also email privacy@nuola.app. We may verify your identity and ordinarily respond within one month.
You may lodge a complaint with the data protection authority where you live, work, or believe an infringement occurred.
Cookies, children, and changes
We use necessary browser storage for security and your choices. Analytics loads only after consent, which you can withdraw through “Cookie settings” in the footer. Nuola is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 16 in the EEA. We will post material policy changes here and notify account holders when appropriate.
